How to Cure Bloating
February 8th, 2010Bloated and uncomfortable from a night out partying? Here are a few sure-fire tips for relieving your indulgences:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Alcohol and caffeine cause dehydration. In order for your body’s regenerative system to work, toxins must be purged. The typical amount of eight glasses of water every day is not enough to detoxify. In order to make pure your system while likewise reestablishing important vitamins and minerals, we propose a four-day regimen of fruit juices in the morning and vegetable juices in the afternoon along with your normal diet.
Lemon and hot water. For the first two days, and before you eat or drink anything else, make 1 cup hot water blended with the juice of half a lemon, 1/16 teaspoon cayenne pepper and one tablespoonful maple syrup. Lemons are rich in bioflavonoids, which are excellent detoxifying agents. Cayenne pepper is an anti-inflammatory. Maple syrup imparts sweetness.
Cleansing smoothie. About half an hour after taking your hot water and lemon, make a simple smoothy of fruit and ground flax seeds. Good choices are peaches, berries, apples, pineapple, kiwi, pears and oranges. Add a tablespoon of flax seeds and half a teaspoon of fresh or ground ginger. Do not put protein powder or yogurt in your smoothie.
Have a protein rich breakfast. Prepare a very simple breakfast only if you feel hungry. Ideal choices are yogurt, a protein powder shake, eggs, or oatmeal. For lunch have a fat-free meat like fish or chicken and a large vegetable salad with a simple dressing made with olive oil and lemon.
Juice it up. Later in the afternoon make vegetable juices made with carrots, beets, cucumber, celery, parsley and spinach. If it’s an option, wheat grass juice is a excellent cleanser. At dinner, stew a detoxifying soup with a medium amount of meat or tofu, and noodles or rice. Make the soup broth from real vegetables, not from a mix or can.
